Cheap Thrills (2013)
Cheap Thrills (2013) was quite the ride for me, and why not for you too? This is one of those movies that we often overlook, but if you do decide to watch, you’ll beat yourself up for not watching it earlier. I loved how you know what the movie would be about, almost at the beginning, but you wanna see how the whole thing would turn out. It’s like that “that escalated quickly” meme on the internet, (aside the part that things took their time to develop). This is a drama, crime, comedy, and even tho I didn’t managed to find the rating for this movie, I’d advise for some scenes of blood and violence.
Cheap Thrills (2013) follows Craig, a struggling family man who loses his low-wage job and is threatened with eviction. In an effort to delay facing the music at home, he heads to a local bar and encounters an old friend. The two friends are roped into a round of drinks by a charismatic and obscenely wealthy stranger along with his mysterious wife. The couple engages the two friends in a series of innocent dares in exchange for money over the course of the evening, with each challenge upping the notch in both reward and boundaries. It seems like easy and much needed money, but the couple’s twisted sense of humor pushes just how far Craig and his friend are willing to go for money and cheap thrills…
