Grabbers (2012)

You just can’t and not love movies like Tucker and Dale vs Evil (2010)! Not only that they will make you genuinely laugh, but entertain you throughout the entire movie duration as well. Well, Grabbers (2012) is such a flick too. And a good horror/comedy is always more than welcomed! I didn’t had any high hopes before I decided to see this movie, but man, am I glad I did. It’s Irish, and what at least you can expect from Ireland than – booze (and lot’s of it). I highly recommend it for the weekend ahead and wish you an awesome time! Enjoy.

On Erin Island, an idyllic fishing village off the coast of Ireland, charming but somewhat work-shy Ciaran O’Shea, is tasked with greeting Lisa Nolan, a straight-laced young officer who has arrived from the mainland. Not that there is much for them to do, aside from dealing with the occasional drunk, and that’s usually O’Shea himself. But strange doings are afoot: the crew of a fishing boat disappears, whales start appearing dead on the shore, a local lobster-man catches a strange tentacled creature in his trap. Soon it becomes clear to O’Shea and Nolan that there’s something big out there, and that it’s hungry. It’s time to rally the villagers, arm the troops…and head to the pub.

Starring: Richard Coyle, Ruth Bradley, Russell Tovey
Director: Jon Wright
