Holoflex – The First Elastic Holographic 3D Phone

The future of the cell phones is definietly destinated to be imbued with flexibility and holographic technology, and having that in mind and also grasp, the scientists at Queen’s University in Great Britain built the first flexible holographic phone.
HoloFlex is a prototype of a Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels, touch screen model. And when is bent, it projects a 3D image, while the screen sensor allows the users to manipulate the objects and by that, to create a 3D effect.
The 3D images function by a touch screen that has a layer of tiny lenses which transfer the light in many various directions. This means that multiple persons can see the 3D image at the same time, without the need of wearing special glasses.
The downside is that, even tho the screen is Full HD, once the image goes through the mentioned lenses, you receive an image with resolution of only 160 x 140 pixels, which is pretty bad result, so the graphic looks like is from the 90’s.

The phone is working on Android OS, and has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor of 1.5 GHz and 2 GB RAM memory.
After all, it is still a prototype, and I believe that, this issue will be resolved.
